According to US Daily, A 23-year-old man punched an ATM in Florida claiming that it gave him too much cash. He was arrested by the police and the bank officials state that the attack caused damages of around $5,000.
Cocoa police charged Michael Joseph Oleksik, of Merritt Island with criminal mischief on Friday after spending almost a month into investigating a disturbance in Wells Fargo Bank Branch at 834 N. Cocoa Boulevard in Cocoa.
It has been reported by the Cocoa police that the 23-year-old man was seen beating the ATM after it gave him too much cash. According to the authorities, Oleksik, the 23-year-old, can be seen standing near the ATM in the surveillance video. On 29 November, He was seen punching and pummeling the ATM’s touch screen.
A while later, he called the bank and told the manager that the reason he punched the machine was because he was angry that it gave him a lot of cash and he was unsure of what he should do next. He said he was in a hurry and had to go to work. He even apologized for the damage caused to the bank’s electronic teller.
The Cocoa Police Department was contacted by the Wells Fargo authorities and they asked to press charges. Oleksik was then arrested the following Friday and he was booked in the Brevard County Jail Complex in Sharpes.
